Week 15 - A Spring flower - Narcissus or Double Daffodil

Easter weekend, we went to visit my son and grandchildren in the provincial capital about 300 km north. The City is home to the Muttart Conservatory. It consists of 4 glass pyramids containing flowers and vegetation from arid climates, temperate climates and humid climates. The fourth pyramid is a "special" exhibit and changes from time to time - this time it contained significant seasonal flowers, one group of which were the narcissi or double daffodils.

To me, it looks like a flower put together by a committee.

This image was shot with my 5D IV and the 24-105mmL IS II lens. Processing was done in Lightroom and Nik's Color Efex 4.

As usual, comments and questions are welcome.

Your Mt. Rundle shot is absolutely stunning! Like the flowers, too. You are clearly quite a bit behind us seasonally. Crocus are only a memory here now, although, a few ancient decrepit daffodil flowers remain that I have been slow in snipping off.

Thanks Martha. Glad you liked the Mt. Rundle picture. Thank you for the Karma.

You are right, we are quite a bit behind Alabama seasonally, but then we are a couple of thousand miles further north as well. We are in that transitional season known as "Sprinter" when it can snow one day and be up around 50° to 60° the next, but the robins have returned and that is a sure sign that Spring is not far away.

Nice shot of the double daffodil.
Most of my "double" flower shots are due to camera shake.

Thanks. I have a few of those "double shake" ones as well.

Week 16 - Mystery image...

Well, I am playing catch-up again. I have been in Florida for about 10 days attending the annual Florida Birding and Photo Fest. I was also lucky enough to be able to work in Mike Moat's Macro Boot Camp in Orlando, prior to the Photo Fest. This picture is from a photography session at the Boot Camp. I am going to play it a bit cagey on this one and not tell you what it is to see if you can guess what it is. There are no prizes if you are right, just the satisfaction of knowing you got it and the admiration of all your friends that you were able to tell what it is.

This was shot with my tripod-mounted Canon 5D IV and a 100mmL IS lens. Processing was done in Lightroom CC and Nik's Color Efex 4.

As usual, comments and questions are welcome.

Since this is in Florida, and there is a blue/white patterned background behind the leafy structure, my guess this is shooting through a somewhat shaded canopy thing-a-ma-jig.
