Thanks for your encouragements Mitch, appreciated.
Since I wanted to travel light I took my Sony RX100 M3. It is very pocketable and I am quite happy with the image quality.
For the occasional long shots I also took the even smaller Sony HX90V as it has a zoom of up to 30x.
Both cameras use the same model battery and can also be charged via micro USB either in the car or via the mains.

Another really great set of photos for week 5, Wolf.
Those 7 images of Rotorua are wild. It looks like a vortex that you wouldn't want to fall into. In ph7, Pam and her friend look like they want to throw you into it.
That bike tree in ph8 is a true expression of Green Energy.
I love ph9 & 10. I love shooting in those colors as they make wonderful HDR images.
Ph11 is a really interesting capture. That gal looks like she is trying to grab something and suck it so hard that her lips appear to be cyanotic.
Ph12 is making a very strong statement. But I still trying to figure it out. Each gal is indicating that there are two of what they are trying to point out.The gal on the left is sporting on her leg, a sticker with a set of male parts (winkie with the regular two attachments). The other gal has a lit cigarette and the two gals are sitting beside a tank of compressed propane or oxygen with a DANGER sign on it.
In ph13, their smiles imply that it's mission accomplished. They sure have some lively people over there.
Cheers, Murray

Thanks very much for your very observant comments Murray. Appreciated.
There are many of those steamy thermal pools around the Rotorua area.
They are usually fenced off as the bubbling water is super hot and would quite easily kill anyone that fell in.
I agree the green bike tree does make quite a statement.
Those changing light colors in ph9 &10 were quite fascinating for sure.
Hahaha your comment re the gal in ph11.
Those folks were very enthusiastic about their jobs.
I'm sure glad they didn't blow me up by smoking so close to that propane? bottle.

Another really nice set of photos from the last half of week 5, Wolf.
Ph1 and 1a are beautiful images, especially ph1. Awesome color and scene content.
Set 2 looks like a bustling market. The fellow in ph2a looks like he has lots of mussel and muscle.
In ph2b I love the tattoo on the car.
Raw fish in coconut sounds like a nutty dish to eat.
That fellow in ph 2d looks like a man on a mission.
The place in 2f looks like one where the Lone Ranger might eat.
The cool dude in 2g appears to be blowing his horn about his new iPad.
Those sure are yummy looking mussels.
I have been to that place in 2K. After dringink a cup of their coffee, my stomach went volcanic. Thank goodness for Tums.
As for 2l, I don't think that 25 cents is at all expensive for a melon of that size.
Those are nice designs on that busker's guitars.
I love that middle earth display in ph5. Bring on the shire people!!
Pam looks great standing beside my twin brother. And I hope he did not create any black swan events for your vacation.
Overall that market looks like you could have a good time at it. Of course that may be why the named it Rotorua, which is scrambled letter code for "Roar Out".
Cheers, Murray

Thanks very much for very perceptive comments and encouragement Murray. Appreciated.
I was really impressed by the architecture of the Rotorua Museum. The flower garden in the foreground made it a natural for AutoHDR.
Some very interesting folks and sights at that public market for sure.
You're right about the fellow in 2d being on a mission - it says so right on his T-shirt.
Lol your comment re ph 2f. Who was that masked man anyway??
The dude in 2g was quite good at singing and blowing those horns.
The mussels tasted great.
That volcanic coffee sure peaked my interest.
I wish those melons were that cheap and I initially thought that must be their weight - I was shocked to learn they were actually $25.
The middle earth display was quite interesting. I wish I had known you had a twin brother in NZ.
Hahaha your decipher of Rotorua.

Thanks for looking and commenting Pete.
Pam and I had quite a chuckle when we saw that camper van parked at the mall.
My jaw dropped when I saw the price of that fish.

Another great set of photos for week 6, Wolf.
Wow, I love that van in ph1. Now I know what the expression "pin-up girl" means. That van may look like it was decorated by someone not too swift BUT it's actually full of secret code. For example "punks not dead" is really scrambled letter code for "stoned punk ad" and "naked stun pot". Moreover the expression "let's take off our pants and cuddle" was full of scrambled letter code as well. I won't print any of the choice expressions here.
Interesting conversion of a church to a restaurant. I prayed that you were successful in booking a room.
Those are beautiful scenes of Hahei in set 3.
Pam and her cousin appear to be enjoying themselves.
That seagull looks stumped trying to figure out which one to sample.
Wow, that fish in ph8 is totally off the scale.
That critter in ph9 clearly did not like the taste of that fish.
That cat looks like it ate too much of that fish above.
I would not have eaten in that cafe in ph12 but I might have gone in to make a pepe.
That's a really nice mural in the last photo.
Cheers, Murray

Thanks for your smile inducing comments Murray. Much appreciated.
That van was the first thing that caught my eye when we pulled into that shopping mall parking lot.
The inscriptions on the van certainly stimulate one's imagination.
Very good of you to decipher the code as to their REAL intentions.
It must be a sign of the times as we came across several churches that had been converted to other/ business uses.
That seagull looked like it was enjoying his shell buffet for sure.
At the $7800 asking price for that fish in ph8, I'm sure it must have some gold content.
Lol your comment on the cat.
The cafe in ph12 conjured up some unpleasant thoughts alright.
