Thanks very much for your encouragement Murray. Appreciated as always.
The snowy weather around Vancouver is usually a case of temperatures hovering right around the freezing point and generally starts with snow in the morning then changing to rain in the afternoon as temps rise.
According to the weatherman this snowfall was the first we have experienced here in 1000 days.
So it was a real treat for 3 year old Emily as she had never really experienced snow before.

That's a really wild set of photos for week 51, Wolf.
Those guys in ph1 appear to be wearing bathing suits that are very well appointed, especially the fellow in blue.
There definitely appear to be a huge number of spectators in ph3 as well as a zillion bathers who don't seem to mind the cold environment.
The spectators in ph4 appear warm and ready to see the race.
Big Red in ph5 doesn't appear to be too happy to be photographed.
The people on ph6 are weird looking but I have no bones to pick with it.
Hats off to the gang in ph7 for their courage to brave that freezing water.
I don't know what that gold dude is in ph8 but the image is priceless.
You captured some great expressions and costumes of the folks in ph9 & 10.
That fellow in ph11 sure is wearing some eclectic gear.
Ph13 is that picture that is worth 1000 words....none of which I will share with you here.
Hahaha, that's a cool set of Trump photos to close out the very vigorous set of photos.
Cheers, Murray

Thanks very much for your very observant comments Murray. Appreciated as always.
It was quite a wild New Year's Beach party - according to the local news, there were about 1500 participants in this year's event. The water temperature was actually warmer than the (aprox) -4 C air temperature, so a lot of the swimmers had a bit of a shock when the came out of the water.
I get you point about the guys in photo #1 being well appointed.
The spectators (of which I was one), far outnumbered the 'swimmers' for sure.
I think the gold dude in ph#8 had the most unique costume. - he attracted a lot of attention for sure.
The gal at the centre of ph.#9 appeared very surprised that her bikini top fell off.
We were very honored to have Donald Trump temporarily interrupt his Twitter activities in order to attend our annual event.

WEEK 52

This is the final post on my current 'Photo a Week' project.
I may start a new project after a bit of a break.

1
Pam and I had a lovely lunch at "Seasons in the Park" located at nearby Queen Elizabeth Park.

2
We started off with a Caesar salad, then we had Sirloin steak.

3
Carrot Cake for dessert.

4
The view of Vancouver's skyline from our table.

5
A few other famous people have dined here.

6
Did a bit of a walk around the park after lunch.

7

8
The new 'Lovelocks' sculptures in the park.

A fine set of photos to complete yet another great set of 52 weeks, Wolf.
The 1st image is a wonderful photo of you and Pam. You look nice and warm by the large fireplace.
The food and the desserts look very yummy and Pam's smiles seem to confirm that.
Ph4 holds a beautiful skyline view with lovely mountains in the background. There seems to be some kind of stadium or circular bldg about 2" from the right side of the image and there's a red vertical structure right behind it. The facility looks familiar to me but I can't quite remember it.
Ph5 is a good reminder of what we had back in 1993. While not the best pair, the 2 named politicians would be a lot better than today's equivalents.
Keep Off Thin Ice is a good warning here on the canal but everyone still walks on it and falls in. Must be the depressing political environment.
That flock of ducks look pretty busy.
That sculpture in ph8 looks like it was done by a Master.
The structures in ph9 are indeed creative. I hope they never rust.
And ph10 is a very appropriate image to close off the set for the week and the whole year. Your creations and displays of fine and memorable photos will never suffer from a broken heart!
Cheers, Murray

My sincere thanks for your ongoing support and encouragement Murray. It is appreciated.
We were very thankful for the fireplace (and an overhead heater), while enjoying a superb meal at "Seasons in the Park" as it was quite chilly outside.
The city skyline was icing on the cake. You probably have seen the circular stadium while watching Hockey Night in Canada. It is Rogers Arena, home of our revered Vancouver Canucks.
While looking at that commemorative plaque, I too reminisced about the happier days in 1993 when Clinton and Yeltsin were easing world tensions.
I agree the current political environment appears to be generating a lot of troubling events.
The flock of ducks were enjoying a generous helping of bread croms being thrown their way by an off camera Vancouverite.
I agree those sculptures are quite interesting. I may have to go up there again with Pam and attach a 'love lock' for us.

A very nice way to end a "52" Wolf.
