That Rookery is a photographer's paradise for sure.
Thanks, Wolf! Yes, I love the rookery, although on Easter Sunday when I stopped by, I did not see much activity. The birds have apparently settled into their nests to incubate their eggs and are not so easy to see.

Thanks! Can't wait for the babies to appear.

Week 14 (April 2 - April 8, 2015) Part 1 of 2

The old rookery

I finally got around to checking out the old rookery. It doesn't seem to have more than 3 or 4 nests, but is a great roosting place for the cormorants. One of the nests appears to have a great blue heron on it.

Week 14 (April 2 - April 8, 2015) Part 2 of 2

Went walking in the woods to check out which wildflowers were blooming. I planted the bleeding hearts at the edge of the woods last year and was happy to see they have survived.

The phlox are really brightening up the woods now.

The trilliums are going strong, too.

Really nice work, I very much enjoyed seeing all your spring flowers coming up. Trillium here is protected. Your Phlox is much earlier than ours but as of yet we don't even have the dreaded dandelions out. Bleeding hearts are also a favorite of mine, I managed a couple of years ago to get a true red one...it doesn't grow as tall but is very pretty.

Thanks, Guys!
I seem to be getting farther and farther behind in posting here, but I have been taking weekly shots. I just can't seem to find the time to get them edited and uploaded. I doubt that I will catch up anytime soon, either.

Great to see you back here Martha. You have been missed.
Its sad but true - real life often gets in the way of our hobby.
I hope things slow down and you're able to process and post some of your images.

Thanks, I plan on trying to start catching up, not just with my postings, but looking at all yours too, but it won't be for another couple of weeks. Still getting my shots each week, though.
