Welcome to the 52 Mario, it was a pleasure to meetup with you while you were her in Las Vegas. I look forward to seeing more of the images from your visit here. With luck when next you visit my schedule will allow us to shoot a little together.

Laove the Hard Rock shot, There is so much to see here, even just on the strip. Any one casino property could keep a man shooting for a full day as he explores the grounds.

Thanks Wolf. I generally shoot a fair bit, but don't always post and share and get feedback on what I am doing. This is a way for me to be sure that I get out at least once a week and get something photographed, processed and posted.

I hear you - a 365 is a big commitment, especially if you want to be deliberate in your approach to taking photos. I generally don't just snap away for the sake of shooting something so I can post it. I like to find an image/angle/story/etc that interests me enough that I want to shoot it. Doing that with a 52week seems to be more do-able. I like how you have approached yours - wanting to learn all the different scene modes and how they look in photos is a good approach too.

I loved my visit to Vegas - and it was my first time there so I felt like the proverbial kid in the candy store! As for the shadows, I was really trying to keep the emphasis on the lights as that was what was attracting me to the scene. But it's a suggestion worth pursuing, especially since I was really in 'click heaven' with the strip and shot probably way more photos than I should have

Likewise Bobby - a pleasure to meet you and chat about photography. I look forward to a future visit. And yes - I can see how easily one could get lost just spending a day taking photos of any one of the casinos and environs. In fact, if I lived there, it might make for a great photographic journey to spend time photographing casinos, one day at a time. It would certainly get you looking at all the possibilities.

Thanks Pete - it's a neat place to have a meal/drink, with the rock and roll stuff they have on the walls.

Here is another one from this week, taken while in Las Vegas, outside the Venetian (actually from behind the railing on the balcony):

and one from inside the Venetian....

Only problem with that is when you live here you stop looking like a tourist and Security has a tendancy to give you and your camera the boot

Mario nice shots of the Venetian and the gondoliers. I haven't been to Vegas in almost 30 years - I bet it has changed more than a little since then. I hope to get there this fall, so I will plan a day or three to see the sights, or is that sites(?).

Thanks guys. I certainly had a wonderful time wandering around with the camera. And Bobby I am glad that none of the security people thought me a local and asked me to leave. I will remember to wear loud hawaiian style tourist shirts for the next visit
