Stunning bird images (as always), Tony. Although rain is often unpleasant, it sounds as though your locale needed some precipitation.

Another great bird set Tony!
Hope the weather clears up for you soon and lets you get out and about. We had some very nasty storms that passed just to our north. The St. Louis area got hit pretty hard.

Really wonderful set of birds on day 10. The expression on the 3rd one is like "Hey what are you up to Tony". Approx how far away from you were the subjects and which lens were you using?
Cheers, Murray

Thanks Wolf, yes I've been waiting for the rain for a while now, I'm pleased it showed up, last year was awful for the fruit trees with the drought, I lost a few shrubs too. It can keep raining if it wants

Many thanks Tom I don't mind the rain at the moment. I'm glad those heavy storms passed you by, I hope there wasn't too much damage in St Louis.

Thank you Murray, you're right he was certainly giving me a quizzical look, quite friendly too

Most of my bird set up is in front of my window, so I can open it and take shots from the warmth and dry. They are between 5-6 yards away. The Robin shot was on another set of feeders I have for the shier birds, and that was about 15 yards away.

13-4-2013

Day 11

A grumbley kind of day today, with rain off and on, but I thought I'd get out to a nearby village to check out the Church, for a few details.

Overcast skies for these folks wedding.

I hope they don't have to travel too far in the confined space, particularly the bride dressed in layers of lace and chiffon.

Stained glass window.

Floor tiles.

Ceiling detail.

Candle snuffer.

Play it again Sam.

Outside.

Across the road.

An eclectic selection of fine shots today, Tony. That is a beautiful capture of a classic car. Love the old church, stained glass, colorful floor tiles & candle snuffer shots. A nice looking little house addition across the road too.

A great series of shots for Day 11, Tony. That gal looks so good in white with all her frills. And the bride looks pretty good too.
That's a beautiful stained glass window and the rest of the church looks good from bottom to top (or tile to ceiling). Look at all that craftsmanship in that carved wood.
Those piano keys look like they are real ivory.
That outside shot is really nice. I like the composition and angle at which you took it.
Overcast skies can be quite depressing until you see how well they help one's outdoor photography.
Cheers, Murray

Thank you very much, Wolf, It was awful weather for a marriage, no doubt when they planned it they thought it would be the hight of Spring, I wish them much better days

Thanks Murray, I went into the Church just as the throng had vacated it, the heating was on full blast and the confetti lay on the floor still.
Yet the place was totally empty, somehow it seemed odd, though why, I don't know, it's invariably empty when I go in there. You're right there is some excellent craftsmanship in there
