I fixed it for you, so the link in the original post works now.

OK, here are a few more, along with their "director's commentary":

The Dark Side
Test shot from a new macro lens (60/2.8 AF, if you wanted to know!). This is a leaf from a fig tree, backlight with a handheld flash. To get as much depth of field as possible, I stopped down to f/45.

Boys and their Toys
My brother in law posing with a new rifle.

A cloudy day provided diffused lighting, which was perfect for this shot. I used Matrix metering, which in shots like this with high contrast, will tend to expose the highlights at about +1.5 or 2 EV. I then lifted the shadows in Lightroom, desaturated slightly, and added a light vignette and a bit of grain for effect.

Rocky Mountain House Sunrise
This was shot just after sunrise. The sun was the focal point of this shot; I positioned it to be just visible through the branches, and stopped down to minimum aperture to accentuate the beams coming from it.

Peek-a-Boo!
I took a walk in Fish Creek park after work today, with Monica and Maija. We found a couple of deer, and stalked them for half an hour or so. They were in think brush for the most part, but I managed to get a couple of shots which I liked, despite the trees. In this one, the deer seemed to be studying me as closely as I was studying it!

This shot shows the utility of a sturdy monopod; in thick brush at sunset, I was able to get a sharp shot off, at ISO 560 and 1/90s shutter speed. If I were hand holding this shot, I would have needed close to 1/500s shutter speed (2.5 stops faster), which would have put my ISO at 3200!

Hope you enjoy! I'll try to remember to come back here every week or so with more updates.

Cheers

You've got some great shots here! I also appreciate the commentary that accompanies each shot detailing the scene as well as the technicality. Very nice.
