Description: This objective (lense) from nikon is a very good product and it is way better than the most "kitlenses" it was deliverd as kitlens with a nikon D70 etc. it is designed for digital (aps-c) DX format sensor and not for analogue (film) photography equipment it is solid build, works great and is very good on all kinds of images

the range must bu multiplied by 1.5 for effective range .
Keywords: Nikon 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5 AF-S DX.

Pros: build quality, IQ, looks & feel, handling
Cons: weigth it is not a light objective / lense

Warning this is a users review !! The Nikon 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5 AF-S DX is a very good product from Nikon Although it was delivered with the more espensive bodies like a Nikon D70 , i think that it more than just a kitlens.

First i hate the word kitlens, especially in this case. the 18-70 (refer furher to 18-70 for the full name) is very well build (9) (B+) , has a zoom ring to override AF ( works great ) and it can be used manually. The IQ is of a high level, due to ED glass and a aspherical lens as well. The coating is good , the lens is supplied with a hb-32 sunhood and when you take just the objective (*) in you hand you instanty feel it is a good product.

The 18-70 is a ideal travel objective because it has a 18mm to 70 mm range on DX sensors it has to be mulitpied by 1.5 for the extension factor or crop factor.

Why the word objective"? because a bobjective is made out more than one lens (so is this one) and that is the way it supposed to be.

i can recommend it to any one looking for a short and decent zoom.
