Pros: larger LCD, quick response, metering system, feels like a real camera.
Cons: 8.2 CMOS,

I am amateur and not super familiar with new Canon models. Have read many reviews of both 300D and 30 D, Both are more than adequate. 30 can do a lot more.
Upgraded from a 300D
Very nice camera, much more capable than the Rebel.
Really enjoy using this camera.

Pros:
Cons:

I loved the 20D and the 30D is probably just as good, although I think it's a tad bigger in size. That's a shame because the 20D was nice and compact.

Pros: Feels good in your hand
Cons: Wish Canon had increased the megapixel count

I upgraded from the 400D, and while I miss the compact size of the Rebel I love the layout and attributes of the 30D. I feel confident that whatever adjustments I make (within reason!) the camera will forgive and provide a beautiful picture.
