Default Best gallery software - preferably free and with flash!
I recently set up my own website, purely for my own pleasure as it was cheaper to do this over a year than to pay the likes of flickr, my domain maintainer, and mail hosts etc. Now that I've got this space I want to dabble with setting up some galleries. From what I've seen out there I really like the Flash driven sites, despite my initial reluctance to have something that requires client software to work correctly. I think most people have Flash now anyway, even fellow Linux Luddites .

Anyone got any examples of what they've done to feed my creative lust? Or maybe links to software that you think is cool. Once I get this thing set up I'll be sure to post the link here for remorseless criticism...

I usually creat my own flash, but just a word of caution, IE is not playing nicely with Flash. :P You will need a snippet of code to put into each Flash page to fix this problem as well as a source file in the same folder as the page containing the Flash object. If you decide you still want to go with Flash, let me know and I will email you the file and the code.

The page Resne is sending you to has a Flash file at the top of the page (navigation area). If you are using IE, hover your mouse poiter over it. You will see a box appear and a message. Click on it once and it will activate the Flash. Now the role-overs will work. Refresh the page and you will have to do it all over again. Microsoft did not give the user the option to "just enable it"

I did notice that the SimpleViewer appears to work fine though. Hopefully the problem is corrected in the software when the Flash is creatd.

I do web developement so test my pages on different browsers. Mostly Firefox and IE since they are the top two browsers in use. Safari would also be a good one to test on, but I don't have an Apple.

Just another note for Apple Users. Microsoft no longer supports a browser for Mac's.

I think some Apple folks would say that Microsoft never supported a browser on the Mac . I tend to stick to Safari these days on the Mac, though wish it had some of the expandability of Firefox.
