Default Camera settings ....

I managed to get a disc of the official pictures taken at a recent wedding . The details for this picture are :
Canon 5D , 1/500th sec , 108mm , F4 , iso800 , pattern metering , Shutter priority mode , exp comp +0,7 .
I wondered how many people shoot in shutter priority mode , pattern metering , with exposure compensation when it might make more sense to use aperture priority and spot metering ?

I wonder too. Makes no sense to me.

Shutter priority doesn't allow you to control depth of field the way aperture priority does.

I've found that, with digital imaging, everyone has their own way of doing it. Photographers are especially bad at making things more difficult than they really are.

Your on the right track Desmond.
You've grown your knowledge quite a bit in the little time I've known you.

The funny thing is that most of the "knowledge " I had before but had never experimented and seen the actual differences myself . It was empty knowledge .
Our discussions have inspired me to go out and experiment and see the results for myself and apply them . Much of it involves being humble enough to accept that we know less than we think we know [ the more you learn the more you realize how little you know ] .
The big word here is WISDOM ---- the intelligent application of knowledge .
