Default One wedding shot I managed to muck up completly

This shot I liked but I managed to mess up the focus and was interested if anyone could give advice on sharpening it enough for a keeper I think this is asking a bit much but .
The save for web thing has washed out the colors here

Yes, use photoshop, create a duplicate layer. unsharp mask at 500%, Radius .2 pixels, threshold 0, on a top layer, bottom layer use gausian blur to fuzz it up. then erase thru the top layer just the background portions so that the top layer appears sharper than it may be. It's a bit of a visual deception but it works. Here's a quick sloppy one, just to give you the idea.

The background blurring is toooo obviously done in photoshop. You could have done it a little more neatly.

I agree. As I said, it was sloppily done just to show the concept. Normally it should be alot less obvious. Would probably take about 30 minutes to take your time and do it correctly.

I think the image is useable and I would not necessarily sharpen it...Softness adds a nice effect, here's what I did with it in a few seconds:

Take the emphasis away from the background completely.
A bit much for some....Just right for my style.

Seb

I had a quick play with this, creating a layer mask and reducing the lightness behind the couple a little. I think there is more detail that could be brought out in the dress. If you have the original raw file you should be able to do a better job than I've knocked up...

Wow...I love what everyone's done to the image.

I have one suggestion for future reference.
I noticed the background is very dark....try to use a longer shutterspeed to bring that up. Your wedding work will get much better overnight.
