Kids do have a special eye! A friend of mine told me his daughter has taken photo's and had them published (mostly due to him being a pro, and showing them to the editor). So I'd definately give a camera to a kid...

If I'm doing a wedding where there's going to be a lot of kids - my 12 year old comes along. She takes a camera and heads off to the dance floor. She has a blast, I pay her a bit and there's usually several of her shots that end up in the album.
