Default Mock wedding shoot

evening all.

I've been asked to shoot some pictures for a hotel advertising it as a wedding venue, so I've got myself two models (free) boquet and buttonhole (free) a morning suit along with about 5 different colored waistcoats and cravats, and shoes and shirt (all free)

The hotel is fantastic, quite posh but still quite modern. Georgian/victorian styling throughout.

This is my question.

I'd love to use some props for this shoot. I'll be taking 2 white umbrellas, mostly to look cool. I'm also taking my old yashica LM, cos you could shovel manure with that little thing and it still looks fun!

Actually, This is the question...

what else would you use as props?

or wouldnt you bother?

I wouldnt use a bunch of props... just to not distact from the subject. the venue. I would ensure that the tables are nicely decorated as they would e for a wedding to make it look more appealing

If the Hotel asked you I would showcase that, and think as a bride "why would I want to have my wedding there. Do develop a set list so you can move from shot to shot in chronilogical order endeng in some romantic shot in the nice bed with a bottle of Chyrstal or Dom and glasses sidelit to emulate candlelight.. I'm commisioned to do a similar shoot soon.. Make sure you have a MUA and Hair on site, Oh and help with reflectors, scrims flags and lighting.

If the venue wants to be showcased, using props that don't exist in that venue would be almost like fraud. There has to be enough stuff in the hotel to amply provide you with props. Do a walk through to see what is there. And a suite should give a nice setting for some intimate images of a bride and groom. Just bring whatever lighting equipment you can to create the best images. Or use as much ambient light as you can. But extra props is not a good idea.

Not that your input may not help someone else but you guys realize this thread is over two years old, right?

Applicable information is always beneficial. Now, or fifty years from now. Even if the advice given changes in its veracity. Take what is given and use it, or discount it as "old".

Wow I did not look at the date! should there be a stale factor as the original post was so old.. Hmm oh well I posted way to late to help out the original poster, but as dave apty mentioned there might be some other person considering using "Props" usally reserved for Hollywood or Ballywood..
