Default Fleeting emotions

I was disappointed that I wasn't interviewed to shoot my friend's son's wedding, but that decision rested with the bride and her parents.* They were concerned about entrusting the job to a semi-pro, and felt an* established studio would be the safest bet.* So I attended the ceremonies as a guest... but that didn't stop me from taking a few shots* 8-).* In a way, it was a lucky break, because the prime photographer is too busy to try for ephemeral boutique shots.

The bride was enjoying the Maid-of-Honor's speech,

... when something triggered her emotions.

An instant later, she was happy again.

That middle shot may be the best wedding picture I've ever taken.* The bride and her mother loved it too, and tried to buy a print, but I refused to sell them one.* I was a guest at their event, so I gave them the prints as a gift.

Btw, I've been guaranteed an interview when the bride's sister gets married* .

Awesome shots. Captured the moment and the middle one is sad, but great. I can see why they wanted it.

I might have been a bit different on whether they even got a print of it, depending on how they handled the no-interview for you bit.

Nice crisp shots. Great emotion. What lens did you use to shoot these with?

Thanks, Kelly. I shoot a Nikon D200, and used the 85mm f/1.4 portrait lens for this series.
