Default wedding mistakes three weeks ago

My off camera shoe cord 2 broke off of the stroboframe press-T flip bracket i was using as the relatives were being lead down the isle.
I was fortunate in that there was enough light to do the job, but ALWAYS, ALWAYS, double check your gear.

Mike,
Good words to live by.
It's this very reason why I use the Canon's with a pop-up flash for emergencies.

I've got this same bracket. What actually broke? My bracket and flash adapter mount has been very sturdy.

OK, I see it now. I see the bottom plate on yours is metal. Mine is plastic. I would think the bracket clamp would still hold your metal base securely. Did it separate from the plastic above? Mine also has a tripod screw thread on the bottom. You could use the same screw that holds the adapter to the frame directly on the shoe cord 2.
Glad you were able to keep working.

The lip actually broke off as i flipped up the flash to do vertical shots as the relatives were coming down the isle.
i was told by another person a few days ago, that you could buy the plastic part that the flash sits in from canon for about $3.00 instead of getting the Nikon part. the plastic part is actually held on with a couple of small screws.
