First one is great! Wish you would have spread the girls out a little more like the boys...They seem a little bunched up. Nice work

Scott, your lighting is always beautiful, the colors pop, and the focus is excellent. One thing, though, the depth of field is just too deep, imo. I'd love to see the setting be more blurred.

Thanks RL... I agree I would have preferred shooting with more of the background defocused. Heck, that last shot was f18 with a 2 stop ND filter on the lens. Horribly bright day. Without external light, I could not have exposed them properly and since I don't have the 4 or so SB900's I would need to slide into hss I have to sacrifice aperture to keep the shutter speed under 250. I could have gone with a longer lens, but for these shots I wanted wider to get the enviroment in the image. When I have a second, I will throw up some of the shots at 150-200mm which have a much shallower DOF.

I appreciate your feedback

Really liking the first one. I was impressed with the brightness, the skin tones, and the color. Nice casual posing as well.

Same thing on number 2, it just appears that the top girl is too far away from the bride. Legs for the girls, need a bit more curve. Notice how the young lady on the step behind the bride is flat to the camera. Might have flattered her a bit more if she had been turned at an angle.

Admittedly, I am not sure what your last comment means. I know the compression on lenses is different and provides a different effect, but what would the longer lens have done? An opportunity for me to learn something here.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Kelly... that is exactly what I am talking about, the compression of the focal length having effect on the DOF.

Here is an example from this wedding:
25mm

85mm:

For both of these images, I was the same distance from the B&G and they were the same distance from the background.

So you are the same difference from the bride and groom in both these shots?
