Great set Saturday with this couple. SOOC shot but I am torn in how to clone out the chair. I don't want to take any off in crop, and I think too much white from the table will distract. I see that I missed it on the hair light, so C&C welcome, as well as edit permitted. If I have time, more pics will follow. Thanks all.

I can see it now. Personally I'd be more concerned about the poles on the right side and the position of the main light, but not much you can do about it now. The couple should be facing the main light, not turned away from it. Also, I think that having the couple facing each other is more attractive than the standard "prom" pose with them facing in the same direction. The reflection in the bar doesn't add anything to the image and should be cropped out. Cloning out the chairs in the background shouldn't be a problem. The image is a bit under-exposed but you can correct that in levels. I think I would have tried to find another location for this portrait. The background is extremely dark and if you lighten it up, it's distracting.

Jim,
Thank you for commenting. I was working for Rembrandt lighting technique, but somehow lost the mention of that in my caption. I was also shackled on the reflection being there as critical to the bride. In fact, I'll be exposure stacking the piano to add more to it. Late night posting never was my strong suite ![]() |

I think for this one, the lesson is, pay attention to the background before you shoot. I know it is something I have been working on.
