Beautiful! What kind of lighting did you use on the first? And the second?

Both are very nicely done. But I have to say. How can you not love the second one? The technical aspects of the image are very well done but the expression on the kids faces, particularly the girl, are priceless. Wonderfull image.
I also would be interested in how they both were lit. |

lighting ambient only. no flash fired for either shot
* I went to a guys website early Sat. that had him quoted as being a master at using only available light......I thought of that the whole time.. Doesn't always work, but in these cases it was great!* Thanks again! The second shot does have a big window in front of them, a little to the left.Kathy Patterson |

Thank you so much for the nice compliments!! I am thrilled you think they are great! And extremely flattered being mentioned in the same paragraph as true artist. As an artist in many mediums and formats that is a great compliment. I do wish that my subjects always felt the same way and understood my passion...don't we all~
Thanks again, Kathy |

These pictures say a lot for ambient light under the right conditions . Flash would have killed the first one totally . Nice work .
You realize of course that this means you have to show us at least two more pictures ? |

Outstanding....
This is exactly why I've always felt that a woman is more of a natural photographer than a man. Men are technical minded, whereas a woman sees the emotion in an image without looking for it. Superb work. |

Glad I could help. Being a novice photographer I am usually the one getting nit picked
![]() I guess I have gained a "critical eye" for detail with all of my mistakes that have been pointed out to me. Good luck with the sell. It is a beautiful photo and needs no luck ![]() Mark |

Kathy..I agree with everyone else...stunning shots. I'm wondering about the website you mentioned for the "master of available light". Can you share the link to that site?
Thanks, Alice |

I would love to share. On another forum a friend started a thread for wedding photography inspiration and I love to take a look to help calm my fears and get new ideas. I believe this guy is awesome. Everyone has different styles, but I believe as a photographer you can look at these and appreciate the light.
http://www.jeffascough.net/main.html Thanks for the compliment. kp |

Very special images. Well crafted. They caress your attention and touch the heart. They are masterful. It helps having great subjects, but great subjects get photographed all the time but seldom rendered to this standard. Surely you must have felt something special while shooting, and a great rush when viewing! Congrats!
