No, not on the board but on my digitals...
I've seen people do it - the little copyright line on the bottom of people's images etc. I have looked everywhere I could think of... maybe I'm selectively missing it... I cannot find, anywhere, using Photoshop, how one goes about adding this into their digital image. Maybe I'm just not seeing something totally obvious (wouldn't be the first time) but enough Camel-lians here do this... I actually had a stamp made when I was a kid (and had dreams of professional grandeur before reality set in and messedt that up for a while) that I'd emboss the corner of my images with... I've duplicated it (and use it as my card ) but I'd lofe to be able to drop this as an add-on into my pix. So please... PLEASE... can someone point me in the right direction, or post some simple way to drop this (as a jpg or bmp or whatever) onto my digital images? Otherwise I'll remain stumbling in the dark... cold, alone, and frustrated... (insert pouty lip here...) Thanx, Sus __________________

I just add a text box and fill it in. Alt-0169 gets the copyright symbol.
If I've got a bunch, I'll copy/paste or save the layer somewhere. Lightroom will place it automatically on Export with LR2/Mogrify plug-in. |

Terribly annoying speaker, but very good tutorial about how to create a photoshop action to add a watermark. I'll create a simple action for you if you send me the text (text only, sorry) and tell me if you want it in the corner (which one), top or bottom of you picture.
http://av.adobe.com/russellbrown/BrandingSM.mov Send me a PM if you can't do it after watching the movie. |

If you are using Photoshop my suggestion would be purchasing one of Scott Kelby's books. They are loaded with step by step directions on how to do almost everything.(how to turn a signature file into a brush)I use it all the time because i can't remember anything these days

If you're using LR2 you can print the copyright information in the file's metadata across the bottom of the photo during export. This metadata can be added to all files at the same time.
Voila! |

So you want to disfigure/mutilate your images by adding your name to it? That's grafitti.
I have yet to see an architect spray-painting his name on the front of his new building. If you must add a 'copyright notice' (why?), add an edge/matte to your photo (black, white, or any other color) and put the copyright notice in that. But NOT in the image itself (unless you WANT to disfigure or hide it). |

Thank you!! When I shot B&W I put a sigline (literally, my sig) on the prints - it was required by my instructor. He said he did that for 2 reasons...
(1) He had to look at SO MUCH work he needed to know whose painting was who's. (2) We were told that it was so we'd take pride in our work. If it was anonymous, then it's easy to turn out schlock, but if people see YOUR name when they see YOUR work, you tend to make that print (or shot or whatever) count. Taken that way, I think it made some of us a little better artists. And by the way - re Architects and buildings - No, they don't spray paint it, but they sure aren't afraid to put a bronze plaque with their names on *their* art. Anyway, they *are* my shots, my intellectual property, and the only reason I can think of right off the top of my (admittedly weary) head that someone might find it offensive is if they wanted to hijack them for, um, use without permission. It may be an honor, but not that much of one, to have your work used thusly. Otherwise why do professionals do it, and image wells watermark their sample stuff? SR |

The easiest way to do watermarks is like this. Watch the video, I'm sure you will enjoy it. Cheers Watermarks in Photoshop | Photo Answers |

The way I do mine is i make a new layer in photoshop and type in what I want it to say and then I use the opacity to set it for each seperate image. You can even make a standard one and just add it to your image then lighten it.
Hope this helps. |

You own them and it is your right to make sure that as people see them they know who did them. Also in my case I have images on a myspace and facebook page I would hate for my clients to go and just get them all off of my pages when they didn't purchase them all. I would keep a backup set on a disk or something just in case the client wants to purchase them later you wouldn't want to give them one with your copyright all over it. I hope that this helps you out. |
