Hi,
I'm in the process of creating a new tutorial which is 80% completed and working Interactive Blend Mode tutorial and I'm not too sure it is the best way to go. I would really appreciate comments and suggestions and whether it is too slow. I'll leave it up today (19th) and tomorrow if you can spare a few minutes. Thanks __________________

Hi Chris!
I have been in photography for a long time and I can navigate my way around PhotoShop. As I did with old manual retouching and now with electronic means, I leave that expertise to a retoucher I have on staff or on an outsource bases. I am a much better photographer than I am a PhotoShop operator and I try to do all the work in the camera so that the retouching phase is image enhance mt rather than correction or special effects. As far as text is concerned, I can advise you. I have done a great deal of technical writing and teaching in my time and I think your text is excellent. What you have written is easily understandable and well explained. Once you have the structure of your tutorial set up, I am sure it will work well. If you have actual "screen images"- before and after kind of things and step by step methodologies this should be quite the lesson. I think the operative word and concept here is "interactive". Thank you for your time Ed,
I (stupidly) forgot to say that the tutorial is actually a working model, not just words - perhaps I should give up trying to explain things if I miss the obvious bits (like that)! |

You could knock me down with a feather - so many people looked and only 1 replied.
I know there are a lot of lurkers, or should one say 'takers' who do not contribute to the community, but you would have thought asking for help would get some sort of response. Amazing - tutorials have been withdrawn |

When your frustrated ego gets the better of you and you pull something down like that, not only do you deny the lurker and taker from access but also from those who might offer advice or compliments. I'm sure I fall into one of those two catagories.

Thanks, but I have no problem with frustration etc - I said in the original post that it would only be up for 2 days!
The negative response indicates that the idea was not a good or bad one as it did not move people to say something. It was an entirely different approach - an interactive tutorial, giving the reader the control over how they learnt, but I now know that that is not what people want - Hey Ho, back to the drawing board. __________________
