For the why of this tutorial see my other "Evolution" tutorial.
![]() Just as in the other tutorial we used a tear sheet from this month's Glamour magazine for our inspiration, but I decided to do this in high key rather than low key. First the tear sheet. Several things I don't care for in this iamge is the straight arm and leg. Maybe this is OK for a fashion image but I don't like it for a portrait, and neither did Bree! Benji __________________

This shot shows my high key room and how the shot was set up and the meter readings of the various lights and background. I don't use a hairlight in my high key room. There is enough spill from the background lights bouncing off the ceiling to illuminate her hair. See my tutorial High Key Imaging for how i have my lights set up.

Nice evolution set Benji and a really good demonstration of high key.
I was watching this as you were uploading and I think this will be a really useful tutorial, especially for this time of year when it seems that high-key christmas photos are very popular. Regards, Peter |

Benji: Just two lights on this high key shot? Interesting. I like the final image. Thanks for sharing.

Bobby,
This is a prop that I had a local carpenter make it up for me a number of years ago, and one of the few from back then that I still use! Ben __________________
