but here's a way to neutralize your images if your in an awkward lighting situation.

Can't make out the shortcut near the end. I think he's saying shift-ctril-alt N E

I believe it is Shift-ctrl-alt-E
This creates a new layer and merges all the visible layers into it.
So you now have one layer that combines the effects of all the layers used so far.

Yes its shift+ctrl+alt+n+e which like Driftwood said it creates a new layer and merges all the underlaying layers onto it.
