Default 500 Watt light

Ben, in your video you mention using a 500 watt light to narrow the pupils, but no elabloration. Does that light turn off just before the exposure?

Just a thought, if you used a bulb like that in a weight loss class would that narrow the pupils?

Vic,

The 500 watt light stays on during the exposure. It does not affect the actual exposure part of the image taking process because it is weak when compared to the burst of light from the flash unit. Just as your headlamps don't help illuminate the road ahead of you when the sun is shining this light will not affect the image. I use a 125 of a second shutter speed and an aperture of around F 8 to F 11 to insure this also!

Regarding the pupils of the weight loss class, YES! If someone would work out in front of a 500 watt light for an hour a day, he would get smaller!!!!

Ben

I wondered about this too. I am surprised it doesn't hurt the exposure and white bal at all. I guess the shutter speed isn't long enough at whatever F/stop your shooting at. I bet at 1.2 it would kill your exposure as that would be fast enough to gather that light.
