For this tutorial i use a Trust Cartreader type 15092
![]() this is a compact 42-1 cartreader. But you can use pretty any other cartreader as well This device is always connected to my main pc so if i have images to import i use this thing Why not a camera and a usb cable ? Simple , most camera's are fragile and i have read so many stories people killing there camera simply because one moment of not watching or looking out You simple click in the card in the appropiate slot and select the map on the card when i import i always select all the files and copy them (not cut and paste ) to a folder on the harddrive ( in this case a 640gb documents disk) i go to the folder : photo's (offcourse since i barely shoot video) create a new folder or create a sub folder under a item the images fit in than i copy them to the folder (note: they remain on the card ) then i control that they work and if so the card will be taken out the cartreader and put back in the camera it was in , reformated the card in camera (this is crucial!!) Why it is crucial to format in camera ? because camera's have a different file system and write system, by formatiing cards in camera you know that it is bound to work for that camera. yes i have many cards and toys i just record it on the mydisk using dirk OS were each card belongs to so i prevent a mix up on files . it is for me a system that works and works great never change a working system __________________
