You can easily do the same thing with the Asus Transformer Pad with docking keyboard. Just plug camera directly into the USB port and using Helicon Remote your tablet has complete control of your camera. You can take up to 15 bracketed shots for HDR and you can do focus stacking as well for macro. One drawback Ive seen is that the files get saved to the tablet and in jpeg format. Easier and cheaper than the iPad.
