Default Fast...no, Heavy...yes!

We had some great clouds this Memorial Day and I thought it would be fitting to 'shoot' some of the local mobile artillery.

Thanks!

The first I am told is this:
M109 series 155mm howitzer.

The second image info I got was this from a Flickr member:
This is the M551 "Sheridan" Armored Reconnaissance/Airborne Assault Vehicle. A light tank. Was used from around 1966 to the early 90's. The main armament was the 152mm gun/launcher which fired conventional ammunition or the Shillelagh antitank missile. Was generally assigned to Armored Cavalry units and saw action in Viet Nam less the missile system. Also saw service in Desert Storm with the 82nd Airborne Division.

These bring back such memories from my youth. Correct ID's on both photos. My Father was a battalion commander of the M109's in Ft. Hood Texas ('79-'81) - 1st-78th FA, 2nd Armored Division.
