I wanted to share a couple of snapshots of a 1947 Dodge Fire Truck. It started life working at Fairchild Air Force Base near Spokane WA. In its retirement, it became a resident of a nearby lake resort. Since moving there it has been used in fighting three forest fires that occurred near the resort. All of this information was shared by the very proud owner.

GREAT ole Dodge Fire Truck. Would like to know more about it, as I'm a collector / historian of Dodge Fire Trucks. We try to keep up with all the serial numbers of the 39-47 model Dodge Fire Trucks. Would love to know serial numbers, model numbers etc. off the door pillar. The fire apparatus body, looks home made, but if their is a Mfg. name tag on the fire body, I'd love to know this also. Your truck is probably a 1941 model, not a 47. The chrome strips in the lower grill are a dead give away. 1941 was the only year Dodge put these chrome strips in the lower part of the grill. This same basic truck was built from 1939-1947, with changes to the grill & other areas from 1939-41, then the 42-47 trucks were basically the same.
Look forward to learning more about this truck. Take Care, Nollie Neill, Jr. Collector / Historian of Dodge Trucks Ennice, NC owner of 1939, 1954, 1973 Dodge Fire Trucks |

Nollie & Joe
Thanks for looking and commenting on this old truck. It really was in wonderful condition. Nollie I will PM you with contact information for the owner. I spoke with her this morning and she told me that the truck was a 1942 model according the title and not 1947 as I has stated. Cheers, Colby |
