Not exactly transportation but close enough.* This is the nose are of a B-17G which is housed in Pheonix.* It is one of a handfull that are still flying.* I hope you like it.

Seen it elsewhere, and it looks good on The Camel too. And yes, it is close enough to Transportation, and what a fine mode of transportation a B-17 would be, ehh?

I would consider it transportation. It transported ammunition and delivered it successfully to the desired location.

Great shot, my grandfather flew B-17s over Germany, before being shot down......

I like that its close enough to see the rivits on the aircraft and I like how you can see the prop on the right side. Nice work.

I've seen it flying out of Falcon Field in Mesa (Phoenix area). I feel so insignificant in a Cessna 172 when that thing is on the runway.

Here's one of her sisters from Houston. I love the old birds, but there's nothing wrong with young "chicks" either. (groan!)

Thanks. My uncle flew with the 381st out of Ridgewell. After seeing the cockpit I have even more respect for what the 8th did in WWII. When you see what modern navigation equipment is like and then see what they had its amazing that they ever actually found the target!! The navigators never got the credit they rightfully earned.

They don't build them like that any more. Or B-17s either, for that matter

Wonderful picture. You don't need the full picture to convey its rather lethal purpose....
