At last, a combination of mainline steam and a dry day (one of the few this Summer).

Tangmere came blasting through Sway, blowing off as well.

The return journey was headed by Oliver Cromwell, quite tame in contrast, being at the foot of Sway bank.

The next train was a Cross Count service (actually the "ry" missing, good job the "o" was still there...)

Early the next morning (0645 !!) on her way to Salisbury to haul another special to Worcester and back.

It's tough to avoid a visceral response when a hundred tons (or so) of locomotive is bearing down on you. Especially at night...
