Lately I've been including some images that are on flickr. When viewed on my Mac everything looks fine. But from my PC the images don't show up. And others have reported the same thing to me.
Here is an example: <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/cornice...2031583/"><img src="http://static.flickr.com/89/23203158...f2_o.jpg"></a> Let me know if you can see the image in this post (and if you are using a Mac or Windows and which browser). I will also put the image on another site and try to link to that in a reply to this one. John __________________

Just tried it from FireFox and the image shows up correctly. Clicking on it doesn't work because there is a bunch of extra stuff in the URL. It should be http://www.flickr.com/photos/cornicello/232031583/, but it shows up as http://www.flickr.com/photos/cornice...hoto%20Sharing

I see it... Firefox/WinXP SP1.
I notice that you're using html anchor and image tags. ![]() This is your URL with the SMF [IMG] tag. Can you see it in both browsers now? |

John, use the img tags here, and your pic displays fine.

I think it may be different on different browsers. The software for this site can handle hyperlinks and some HTML code, but is not foolproof. A way to show Flickr images on here, and to stay within the Flickr guidelines of ensuring the image links to their site, is to use BBC code. e.g. for the image above, it would be:
![]() The image above is broken down to: [ url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/cornicello/232031583 ][ img ]http://static.flickr.com/89/232031583_a65f0858f2_o.jpg[ /img ][ /url ] (spaces added to prevent the BCC codes being interpreted) There is a thread here goes into some detail on this: http://www.photocamel.com/index.php/topic,10140.0.htm Unfortunately, the aref code offered by Flickr doesn't work well by default on the camel... |

John, I'm on a Mac, and I can see the image in Safari, IE, Camino, Flock, Netscape, OmniWeb, Opera and Shiira.
But I can't see it in FireFox. __________________
