The story ends here. To be fair, the protesters started the riot wanted to cross a bridge leading to the Malacanang, Philippines' seat of power. The police didnt give in to the demands of the protesters. Rocks from the protesters' side came in first, the cops just reacted to the assault.

Oh well, just another bloody day at Mendiola and Legarda...

Sorry about the blur. Everything happened so fast I wasnt able to make adjustments to my camera. Lens used was a 18-55 kitlens and had to be close, around 2 to 3 meters away as the action unfolded.

Now, the question is, was I brave enough or NUTS? When adrenalin kicks in, everybody goes NUTS, including the photographer...

What were they protesting?
Oh, I didn't know what they were protesting, man. I was attending to my real estate broker license a block away when I saw some riot police truck and I thought this is a nice photo opportunity. I saw a group of professional news photogs who were carrying long lenses and joined them with my 18-55mm kitlens on a 50D. Wierd stuff happens in Manila once in a while and a camera comes in handy.

Great stuff. As much as I sometimes wish I could shoot such opportunities, I am thankful that they aren't really available near me.

Really nice shots, all of them. They capture the moment and you really captured the emotions on everyone's faces very very well. I agree with nasoj21 ^^ I sometimes do wish but am always thankful.

Thanks for your comments, guys. Thanks also to those who viewed the photos despite the under exposure and the blur. Just like our Department of Tourism slogan, "Its More Fun in the Philippines."
