Default Big Boy (Train)

This was my first shot on location with a 4x5 field camera.
The big Boy locomotive was used during WW2 to transport troops across the US.
It is located at the Steam town National Historic Park in Scranton Pennsylvania. The park is a working round house with many nice exhibits.

Now that train has a lot of character. Great capture.

Beautiful shot, and an interesting perspective.

Do you have any more to share?

Best regards,
Andy

Hi,

The Big Boy was also used to transport coal and other very heavy loads. Here is a link to some Big Boy info: http://www.steamlocomotive.com/bigboy/ and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Union_Pacific_Big_Boy

thank you. I've also seen a program on the discovery channel about the locomotive. When you see the locomotive in person, theres just something that wants you to learn more about it.
