In the heart of Spokane, WA is a park called Riverfront Park. This is a great park that gets many visitors each year. In this park is a memorial statue in honer of Astronaut Michael Anderson. Mr. Anderson was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force and was the Payload Commander on the Space Shuttle Columbia STS-107 in 2003. He was one of 7, who died when Columbia broke up over Texas during re-entry. He considered Spokane home.

This memorial statue was unveiled in 2005. I have wanted to take some pictures of it for a long time now and I finally was able to just a few days ago. These are not the greatest pictures, but they will give you an idea of what this memorial looks like. Many of us remember where we were and what we were doing when we heard the tragic news of another Space Shuttle disaster.

I agree with Tina - the first and last are gorgeous. You've done a fabulous job with the light in these!

I'm not entirely sure if the Portrait forum is the right place for them though.

That's a really good question Ron. lol

Normally if I comment that a thread might be better in a different forum I also give a suggestion and offer to move it, but I am stumped. I think a part of the difficulty is that we (us, not you lol) need to clarify what the purpose of "All Other Styles" is. Right now I think it's perception is as a catch all, but in reality it's meant more for specialist subjects.

Let's leave them here for everyone to enjoy and I'll discuss it with the mods.

These are breathtaking.

There were pieces of the shuttle that fell within 30 miles of here. We were at a church camp and saw one in someone's front yard, roped off by police and waiting for the proper authorities to come.

Such a sad thing.
