I don't ever remember using one of these, I guess I'm a young pup. I'm sure there a few of you around who has.

You think right.

I've used phones like that lots of times, phones didn't have buttons when i was a kid. I guess I'm a little sensitive about my advancing age... I have the same problem with people calling the Doobie Brothers 'Vintage Rock'n Roll'. 8-)

OK, now I'm with you. My first thought when I don't understand someone is to get defensive...apologies. I gotta work on that.

Just as long as you never used the ones with the crank on it...

I have, and I'm not at all sensitive about it. But before you turned the crank you had to listen to be sure someone else was not using the line. There was no dial; you had to ask the operator to connect you. You didn't reveal many secrets over the phone in those days. (And given the new laws, I guess you don't now either.)

So Blinky, quit yer beefin.

Cheers/Mike

Yes, my great aunt had one on the kitchen wall at their old farm house. I was a child then but I think it didn't work.
I heard that fish poachers used them to catch fish too. Shock therapy I suppose. Wow, those things must of had some power...
