Default Murphy's Law, Le Renault Clio & Photojournalism ;-)) M@H

- Murphy's Law

"Anything that can happen, will..."

"Anything that shouldn't happen, does..."

"Double security locks, don't..."

- Le Renault Clio

Le Renault Clio is a PoS car made by Le Créateur des Automobiles, we would be better off if he had hired at least one engineer in stead of stylists only...

- Photojournalism

Opened the hood the other day to add windshieldsprayer cleaning fluid and motoroil.

Have been driving happily for approx. 50 km since, but this late afternoon, while doing 80 (km/h, not mph)...

Luckily no other traffic on the road (Sunday, important football-match, dinner time) so I could carefully brake and let it roll to the side of the road

the 'do not open too high' locks prooved no match when the wind got under the hood, but the other way around ?

...no way you can get that hood down again...

...so half an hour later the tow-truck arrived, at their place I got a replacement car and two and a half hours later than planned I was home again...

...well, at least Ajax won the Johan Cruyff Trophy (by beating PSV with 3-1 )

all shots 20D + EF-S 17-55 F2.8 IS USM, ISO200, all are jpg's straight-from-camera, only resized/sharpened/framed/signed.

PS: IS is also very effective when you are still a bit shaken...

Thanks for watching, my kindest regards!

Yikes! That must have been scary. Glad you came through it all right--and the camera, too.

Hi Lisa!

Yes, pretty scary indeed. And you wouldn't believe the BANG this made, like I was breaking the soundbarrier!

Thanks for your concern and comment ,

OK folks, accidents happen in threes. First Desmond, now Max... who's the lucky third?

That's a bummer Max. I've worried that would happen on my Acura (very old Acura) before when I was driving the kids to school late and trying to decide whether I should stop and latch the hood all the way down.

Hopefully you can recover the full cost from the insurer.

Chip
