Well, I had the opportunity to go and shoot hockey again today, and this time I brought out the "Bees". I set them up mthe same way as I do for basket ball, one on each side, but half way between the goal and the blue line. Bounced off the ceiling at full power.
I was more than pleased with the results, BUT..... I realised that I do need at least 2 more to fully accomplish what I want to at this rink. This is the quarterback from our HS football team, doing his winter sports "thing" #1 ![]() #2 ![]() #3 ![]() This is one from the girls U-19 game - even the gals can "flex" the stick ![]() #4 ![]() Here is my favorite shot from the day - yes he caught it ![]() #5 ![]() __________________

Excellent captures - very nice work. Tack sharp and well composed. And you are right on, you'll have more flexibility adding 2 lights. Have shot a lot of hockey, and a 4 light set works for one end. I set on both sides, one between center ice and blue line, one between redline and face-off circle. I use stands and get 'em as high as possible, bouncing off the white (hopefully) roof. I get pretty good light coverage from BL to goal.

Really nice images, especially #5 the goallie, but the question I have is who is the manufacture of the "BEES"? Kinda new to the whole indoor sports photography thingy.

Nice work, no complaints about having the strobes? I shoot hockey all winter long and we aren't allowed strobes in minor hockey here.

I do not direct flash the ice, as I bounce them up into the ceiling. Parents really like the strobed look vs the ambient look too, so thats a plus! __________________
