Sorry but its another day at the sand racing. This time we had a few guys over from the UK who usually do speedway. I will only post a few more can be found on my website. On a different note in two weeks time we have a local sprint afternoon. The big thing about that weekend is Andy Priaulx the WTCC will be doing the sprint. He will not set any records because he will be using a small bus yes thats right a small bus. The idea is you have to try and guess what sort of time he will set and all money donated will go to a local charity.

Hi fjbyrne and ka Beach
When you say dirt bikes it makes me think of trials bikes, these are more speedway bikes. They are more at home on grass or speed way tracks. When the guys get them off the beach at the end of the meet they wash them down with high pressure hoses. As for the camera I shoot with a canon mk2 so that is weather sealed and I was well back from the action. We have these sand racing meetings about six times in the summers months, oh and they also race cars as well. Being on a small Island we have no room for any race tracks so we use the beaches for sand racing and also in the winter they have banger racing. Also we have a sprint meetings and hill climbs. |

thanks guys
In my first post I said this past weekend I would be going to the local sprint. In the end I did not go as the weather was really bad over here, it rain most of the day. The Sprint did go on but the way I look at it the idea of a sprint is it needs fine weather. |

Now that looks like a GAS!!!! You've done a great job capturing the action and the skill levels it takes to kick a bike sideways like that!! I've race pro for 6 years in Motorcross and did some Flate Track and RoadRacing but that looks like more fun then is Legal!!
Thanks for posting!! Dakota |
