You may want to consider the TC-20E III (not any of the older E or E II versions) instead of the TC-17E II. The aspherical element in the TC-20E III seems to work some magic, and with most lenses I'm convinced it is sharper than the other teleconverters available. During the day, you'd get a good 140-400 f/5.6, which would likely look amazing stopped down to f/8.
