Not sure if this should go in Portraits or Sports?
I took this shot by duck taping my monopod to the crossbar of the bike. I then set the camera at it's widest setting, used shutter priority to set 1/3s and popped up the flash to add some punch using rear curtain sync. Fired the camera using a remote and timer function. The background is completely unfabricated and is as a result of the motion of the bike and the length of shutter speed. It took a couple of hour long sessions to get one where all the elements of the rider expression, background and sharpness was acceptable. Hope you like it. I got through a lot of tape making this shot and nearly lost the camera in the process! That's just awesome! I think I'd be worried that I'd kill myself doing that, but that is just a great shot! Definitely worth a karma.

Try Bogen super-clamps; while I've not used these myself, I hear they'll hold anything.
Of course, I'd still prefer to hang onto my 1Ds Mk. II if I had one, LOL |
