Nice job. Let's call it a good photo of a ball. It's no strike - You don't swing at wormburners.

The composition is pretty good. I'm going to ask, though... are you wide open with your lens? The DOF is a little deep, and the "High Speed Internet" is a bit distracting. Keep it up.

First, excellent job with exposure. Shooting backlit like this can be a real challenge... I might bring it up just a bit more in curves, but other than that, you are right there.
When shooting batter photos, I prefer to pick out a shot with the batter taking a big cut at the ball (with the ball clearly in the strike zone). Ideally, I like the moment after contact, where you can see the ball coming off the bat. Often by looking at it, you can see if it is a good solid hit or a foul ball... Another advantage to timing it immediately after contact is many batters lift their heads just a bit, makes it easier to see the face and eyes. Good effort. Cheers! Ken |

Well that surely is a ball! Below the knees and the catcher is reaching down below his knees, ump will call that a ball everytime.
That is a great capture though. I love those shots of the ball being frozen. I just posted some shots from a Tigers game, but I was too far away to get any captures like that. Thanks for sharing!!! |
