Here you go, kids. It's time to establish a colony for future homesteaders. No holds barred--put this wherever you feel it should be in the cosmos, or beyond. Add creatures, advertising, landscape, zippers... anything that suits you.
Unlimited entries. Anything posted before Monday, May 8, at roughly 6 PM CDT will be considered. Have lots of fun! __________________

Let the games begin!
Impressive opening. Good application of textures, and that's an interesting ripple effect in the sky. How did you do that? The paw print is a nice detail. |

Okay, it's not one-step, but it's pretty quick. I experimented with a couple things, and found this, all since my last post.
Method: New layer, fill with pattern--pick a striped pattern. The one i used had even vertical bars of black and white. Filter: Distort: Polar coordinates: Rectangular to polar Filter: Gaussian Blur, to suit Set Layer blending mode to multiply. Adjust opacity. Add layer mask to hide unwanted portions, or just select and delete or erase them. |

It must be the Founders' Day celebration. I really like the street sign--including the town names!--and the pyramids. And such a cute lil' settler. Did you Photoshop all that? Good work.

Thanks macmaam and JP, Some yes and some are PhotoImpact. The little alien is a sample of what one can do with layers and Z merge.

Sorry to be late, bu i've spent the last several hours poring over the vast field of entries. Though i very much like the little alien, I'm going with ico00, due to his excellent mapping of textures, and for inspiring me to learn something new.
Congrats, and take it away! |
