OK, here is the next challenge. I was kicked out of the house today so my wife could clean house!
![]() I took this shot for the next challenge I won. I didn't realize it would be today. The funny thing is was this shot was taken one handed while talking to her on the cell phone with the Tamron 17-35mm. It was in a new trail that I wanted to try today. Nice thing about this one is I don't have to worry about dodging bullets. I personally like to leave these wide open to help feed the creative juices. Use your imagination and let me see what you can do. Any thing from what you would not expect to see in this scene to anything that may have been here. I did spot a gator, I would guess more than 12 foot long on the other side of the island. The problem, he spotted me before I could get a clear shot. Good luck and I wish you all the best. BTW, Limited to two entries and will be judged in one week (Sunday, January 15, 2006) Here is the small version... ![]() and a link to the larger version. http://www.focusingonflorida.com/Images/IMG_3390B.jpg __________________

Here is my 3 minute attempt. I could have spent more time, but I smell dinner...and I'm hungry
![]() All I did was some painting, using this tutorial I posted earlier: http://www.photocamel.com/index.php/topic,4552.0.html ![]() |

Entry number one changes the cloud formation and includes a sea plane, some tonal adjustments and sharpening

Well, I would venture to guess that my photo did not inspire many to participate in this Speed Challenge. With the entries received, I chose ohenry’s with the seaplane. The seaplane was a added quite nicely to the photo but I was particularly impressed with the addition of the clouds. They were blended in nicely with the treetops. While the right could have been cropped to make this task easier, he chose to keep the partial pine branches and pine needles with the clouds behind. The only thing that I could find was that the reflection did not match the new sky.
Many thanks to those that participated and I hope that you get more participation in your challenge ohenry. |

Thanks Russell...but I don't think it was your picture that was the reason for the low participation. That seems to be the norm for this challenge lately. Perhaps it will pick up some sometime. I'll work on getting an image up for the next challenge today.
