Speed Challenge #118 -- Garden Party

Hey that's good with the bride in it!!! Matches the tones of the challenge photo and everything.

Here's my attempt. I was going to go for cute little fairy's but I couldn't find much other than Tinkerbell and I wanted realistic looking ones. Angels were another option but they either had wings cut off in the pictures or they looked like they were ready to kill someone so....I settled with a Ballet Garden Party.

(BTW, who decided to call these "speed" challenges? This took me FOREVER!!! LOL!!)

Wow, love the ballet theme, reflections and everything, I must learn to be more patient with photoshop so I can learn these things, lol.

Photoshop is an amazing tool. Patience however does not come easily with it when trying to learn it. For reflections, if you want to know...all i did was get the people adjusted the way I wanted them with levels, color balance and curves. Then I right clicked on that layer and duplicated it. Then hit ctrl + t to select it (make sure your layer is highlighted so it'll choose the correct item). Right click and choose flip vertical. Then move the flipped copy down until the most bottom part of the image just barely touches each other (example, with the little girl, the bottomest part of her foot/toe touched each other in both flipped images). Change the opacity to a pleasing lightness so it looks ghosted in. Add a layer mask to the duplicated upside down one. Click on the mask and make sure your top color in your toolbox is black to hide the parts you don't want to see....what wouldn't be reflected like the areas on the rocks, etc. Then paint away the parts you don't want to see. If you paint away too much, just flip your colors to white to bring them back. It took me forever to understand masking but it's a better function than erasing because you're basically just hiding what you don't want to see with the black and bringing it back with the white. Once you learn it...it's a very powerful function. Hope you'll try it and if you need help, drop me a PM and I'll be glad to assist.

I don't mean to hijack this thread at all so I'll make it quick - The photo is in my PC gallery, I've copied the BB code, I've inserted it into the 'Insert Image' box and when I hit OK the box goes away and the image does not show up in the message. So it may be my connection. I did get it to work once before but it will not do it again for some reason.

I've been kinda busy the last few days but finally got a chance to put this one together. Learned me some new PS skills, (finally after all these years I looked at the tutorial disk that came with it).
