Default Speed Challenge #59 - Let's get "funny"
DUE TO POSSIBLE COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT ISSUES, THE CHALLENGE HAS BEEN CHANGED. PLEASE FIND THE NEW PICTURE A FEW POSTS DOWN.

CHALLENGE: Incorporate a cartoon character (or characters) into the picture below to create humorous scene (or sequence of scenes). If anyone wants the full size photo, drop me a PM and I'll email it to you. We'll end this next Sunday at midnight EDT.

That would be copyright infringement, but i would guess we're all capable of "cartoonizing" pics we own. Any other thoughts?

I wasn't sure how it would be viewed if the images were not used for commercial gain and appropriate credit was referenced. I like the idea of creating cartoons from one's own pics, but would that be too much of a stretch? I can change it if it would be better, although another idea will be tough to come by

What about if you used pics of characters photographed at disney world?
Should not be a problem .

It can be a bit of a minefield using some cartoon characters (e.g. Disney images). A good place to find some examples is www.wikipedia.org who operate a 'fair use' system whereby low-resolution images can be used so long as there is a detailed 'fair-use rationale' attached. I suspect that using such images in a context like this would not be allowed, though it's highly unlikely that a not for profit site like PhotoCamel would ever be sued...

You're right; i don't think this would fall under "fair use." As artists, we should be pretty darn persnickety about violating copyright.
