What camera and ISO settings? Have you tried Noise Ninja or some other noise reduction program? These would probably clean up nicely - especially #3.

Sports are really difficult when the light is bad. I've shot ISO 6400 on my A700 on some occasions when the light is bad. I'd rather have general softness than motion blur (unless I am going for effect).

mostly between ISO 1600 and 2000, a bit less of course on the more day light ones! I have a free ware copy of NN but did not run these through it, just used 'included' Sony software, Have lightroom 2 from a friend of mine, really need to sit down and learn how to use it.

Are you shooting raq or Jpeg and I didn;t see what camera. If it is the A700 or A100 make sure you have the most rescent firmwear.

Jpeg A700 and current firmware unless there has been something in the last month or so.
