Default A slow Summer?

wow is it slow in here! All the Sony Minolta shooters out working the summer light for all its worth? I mean I don't have any room to talk, I'm just not posting, I'm not even taking pictures!! anyone else in a digital funk? or is summer just to busy to spend time putting stuff up in here?

Rob are you going over to Comfest this weekend? My daughter and her boyfriend have a booth they will be running, A good friend of mine is involved in the production of the bands. We are going down Saturday for sure.

I've been very busy myself - not with work (as I am curently unemployed) but with exercising. I've decided at age 44 that I'd like take up jogging - I've never run in my life and have never been what you'd call "athletic". I'm doing a program called "Couch to 5K" and I'm currently nearing the end of Week 6 (there are 9 in total). I've also taken up yoga and another program called 100 Pushups. I figured that since I'm not working, I may as well try to get in shape (I'm about 60 pounds overweight).

So basically, I've been too exhausted to shoot!! Hopefully it all gets easier soon!

No Comfest for me - I hate crowds!

LOL Bob you know how many people drop dead running every year! I just turned 46 and am overweight and out of shape, I gotta do something about that. at 45 I played indoor soccer on a FOG leauge......Fat Old Guys...Christ!!! More power to you and your fitness, it takes discipline. crowds are fun, until they become annoying!Heading down this afternoon "sat" should be there by mid afternoon, hope to get some fun shots.
Bummer on the unemployed part, hope that situation works out!

Shoot, I'm going to be 58 in August and I play ice hockey twice a week. One league game (over 18 ) and one over 40 pick-up. I consider it a win every night I survive!

Some days (like today) I feel like I could drop dead at any time! Today was my longest run of the program to date - 25 non-stop minutes. I managed to get through it, even though I did struggle a little towards the end - but I also ran a solid 2 miles for the first time on my life! At 60 pounds overweight, it's not easy to get this fat @$$ moving, but once it starts - it doesn't want to stop!

Warpspasm - you da man!!

Thanks guys. I can't catch many of the young guys though. But, it's great exercise and the camaraderie can't be beat. As far as running goes, my hat is off to you Bob. I HATE to run. Running is aerobic, where hockey is more anaerobic. If I jog a quarter mile, I feel like my chest is going to burst!

I heard that on the news - something like that has never happened before and it's a real shame. From what I'm hearing it was fight that got out of hand - now one kid is dead and another one has ruined his own life.

I hate to run, too! I love the feeling of accomplishment - especially at my age, weight and the fact the I smoked for 24 years, but the actual act of running is not something I look forward to. Considering that 6 weeks ago I could barely run for 60 seconds and yesterday I ran for 25 minutes/2 miles - I think the program I'm doing works pretty good.

I've been checking out 5K's for the fall season and found one in Coshocton that happens to be on my 45th birthday in September - I may set that as a goal to strive for.

Not sure about the Hot Air Balloon Festival - I was searching for 5K's and noticed the date was on my birthday. They also have one here in Columbus on the same day, but it's a Duathlon (run/bike/run) - but I think that's a little out of my league at this time.

I stopped smoking a few years ago, but the damage had already been done from doing it for 24 years. After I quit, I didn't bother doing anything to help my lung functions - I just didn't smoke anymore. Even now, years later, I still feel like I can't get air deep into my lungs - maybe that will change as more time passes.

If you do the run in Coshocton let me know, I will come over and shot your progress!
My wife is a nurse and she says that even after smoking for years once you quit for a year your overall health will improve even if you do nothing else. I don't smoke but do admit I really enjoy several nice cigars over the course of a year.

Before I sign up for a 5K, I need to be able to run 5K (3.1 miles)! So far the Coshocton 5K is #1 on my list only because I think it would be a great way to celebrate my 45th birthday!

Yesterday I started Week 7 of my training and ran for 2 miles in 25 minutes, which is pretty slow. I need to also get my distance up to at least 3 miles, which means increasing my speed. I only have 8 more runs left in this program I'm doing, so I hope I can increase my speed/distance by the end.

I'm currently sick so I have a short yard time before I need to go sit down. And haven't taken a decent picture in days and days.
I did drop off my boy at Magic Kingdom to spend the day with his friend so here's your token MK photo, LOL

Yea, I couldn't even be bothered to use the telephoto lens.

Ok, I'm going back outside. I took some crappy stuff this morning. Gonna go try again.
