Default Shooting with an A700 tethered to a computer

I just got back from doing some "head shots". Just for the heck of it I decided to use the camera remote software and tethered the A700 to my laptop for the first time. Now if only Adobe would get off their butts and fix the Sony RAW bug this would be the perfect studio setup. Almost instant client feedback. If it was not for the fact that I had to import the d**n .ARW files into LR it would have been pretty much instant. I guess if I shot with .JPG's in my LR watched folder it would have been instant. Anyway what I am saying that if you do still or studio shots you should try using the camera remote hook up to a computer. Even though the A700 has a beautiful display there is nothing like seeing your shots on a 17" monitor for instant gratification.

I played with this handy feature a couple times and think it's a rather cool way of displaying images.

I do not use LR, so I don't know if this is even possible - can you shoot RAW+Jpeg and have the "instant" feedback from the Jpeg?

Oops...I take back what I said about Lightroom and .ARW files. I downloaded the latest patch for camera remote from Sony and auto import works perfectly even with the .ARW files. Now that makes me wonder why Lightroom does not auto import when I plug in a CF full of raw files in my card reader......
