I posted in the other but then found this sorry.
This is my first post to this forum and I have a SonyA100 which I love. My question is what do you think of these 3 lenses. SAL 18200 18-200 mm SAL 1118 11-18 mm SAL 75300 75-300 mm I have a lady that wants to sell these. Im pretty much a hobbyist. I take pics just because I love to. Which if any or all three would be useful to me and what are they worth? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Sandy __________________

Hi Sandy
I guess that all depends on on how much she is selling them for and what condition they are in. Take a fast look at Sonystyle.Com to see the current retail price. You also can check KEH.com, a retailer of used camera gear, to see if any of the lenses are on their list and how much they are asking for them. Between the two you should be able to get some idea of what is a reasonable price. As to the lenses themselves, there are third party vendors, such as Tamron and Sigma, who offer comparable lenses and prices less than Sony. If you are a hobbiest you probably will find them more than adequate for your shooting. As to being useful, it depends on what sort of shooting you are doing. The 11-18 is good for tight quarters, think interiors of rooms. The 18 -200 is a decent "walking around" lens that probably can handle nearly any of your photo shots. The 75-300 is a good bet if you plan on doing wildlife or sports shots where distance is a factor. Hope this helps Medved |

The owner says they are in excellent shape and $950.00 for all three. She had a Sony A100 plus the three lenses for $1150.00
The KEH has the 18-200 listed for $325.00. Thanks for your input I appreciate it. There's alot to learn in this business. |
