That is what I was talking about some time ago. My dreams coming true. But , as well, it may be real nightM--- for C and N brands. SONY's power is much bigger than Canon's and Nikon's combined... Hope not, for photo dep... But Zeiss optics already existed - and it is a very powerfull argument for many. And asking price is very agressive - direct hit to D700 and not yet existed new 7D or whatever you call it. Yeah, 24MP with in-camera VR(IS) for $3000 is very serious attemption to hit the market. Could you imagene the resolution of 3800 L? So what will be N and C answer? No, I am not a Sony man, what, ah, isn't bad by itself, uh, I wish I was the one... Dimitri.

No, I don't think it going to happen right now - I've seen some images from A900. Great sharpness. And nothing else to write mommy about - SO FAR! In terms of noise my old D2x is one full step better. That is what I am thinking about today. But Sony's tendency is absolutely clear - their next PRO camera will really shake our idols! You should go to DPR - they've posted some images - make conclusion for yourself. THX. Dimitri.

Too early to really comment on A900 IQ IMO. There is a firmware update (V4 - should be released around the 16th) for the A700 the SERIOUSLY improves IQ. It doesn't appear that the new algorithms have made it to the A900 units that have been tested. Also the results from RAW files look MUCH better than those from the current JPG engine. This seems to be the case with all new cameras - there are IQ problems until the people get familiar with it and the companies fine tune the processing.

If you're new or already in the Sony/Minolta family, the A900 might be good news. I myself think it is a bit fugly looking. Not really impressed by the images posted at DPR either. Well, they are impressive, but I think others can already do that well and better.
Sony may be a big name and all that, but there are a lot of people who just don't like Sony for various reasons, and they wouldn't buy one even if it was twice as good. Not saying that is right or wrong, but the road Sony has their car on is a steep ride to the top. |

review paints it in a good light.
as usual have to use great lenses to get results. I have no idea how much Sony-olta lenses are ..... High ISO still seems to be behind the leaders. |
